What is The Eagle?

The Eagle is the source of truth for the Aragon network. Published weekly on Fridays, readers get a flyover of everything happening in the Aragon ecosystem.

It is critically important to establish and uphold consistent editorial guidelines to best serve this diverse group of readers.

Our readers are busy, so we keep the content short and effective. We always front load the most important information so readers can get what they need quickly. We also keep consistent sections, so readers can skim to find the information they need.

Niche, high-signal content

We post high-signal information for the Aragon ecosystem. We’re not recycling what’s posted on other week-in-review style newsletters—we are posting information that’s unique and valuable to the Aragon ecosystem.

Schedule

Weekly, every Friday morning (U.S. time)/ afternoon (Europe time).

Audience

It’s important that we write in a way that best serves the readers of The Eagle and keeps them informed on timely matters in the network.

The audience includes, but is not limited to:

• ANT holders and their delegates

• Aragon DAO contributors/guild members

• Developers on/with Aragon

• Product users

• DAO enthusiasts

• Interested parties in the web3 space

Aragon products are prioritized

The Aragon products, Aragon OSx and the Aragon App, are our highest priority to cover. Aragon projects and others in the Aragon ecosystem deemed relevant by the editorial team can also be covered.

Neutral regarding votes and proposals

Votes and proposals in the Aragon DAO are covered with a neutral lens. It’s important for us not to sway readers to vote toward one side or another. This is one of the reasons why writers do not directly copy/paste text from the proposal and put it in the newsletter. Instead, they write it in a way that is neutral and not convincing the reader to vote in a particular way. Specific instructions are included in the sections below.

Free, forever

The Eagle is free and will never ask for payment or funds from any party. The Eagle will also never be sponsored or show advertisements. The purpose of the newsletter is to inform the Aragon ecosystem.

DAO members can pitch content

The writer(s) of The Eagle are available for content pitches from DAO members. For example, a member of a guild funded by the Aragon DAO can share an announcement from their guild that they would like to be included. This can be done in the Comms Request discord channel or at press@aragon.org.
