What's being built on Aragon OSx?
Check out three projects built on Aragon OSx, DAO Global Hackathon kickoff and workshops scheduled, Strategic planning guideline up for vote in the Aragon DAO

Aragon OSx has been live on mainnet for about one month now. So, what cool applications are being built on our stack? We explore three projects leveraging the power of OSx to build tools and plugins for DAOs.
We kicked off the DAO Global Hackathon this week. Check out the bounties from our partners, find a team, and start building your project! You can also join the discord server and check out the schedule of workshops for the week.
A new Strategic Planning Guideline is live for vote in the Aragon DAO. If voted in, this guideline will define an agile strategic planning framework for the Aragon DAO. Guidelines are operational standards on the social layer that are indirectly enforced by voting. Vote here.
What’s being built on Aragon OSx?
After one month live on mainnet, we’re starting to see new use cases of OSx emerge. Let’s dive into three exciting projects that won our bounties at EthDenver Buidl Week!
Missio: streamlining DAO decision-making with AI
Missio is an AI-enabled data and engagement solution that helps DAOs improve decision-making.
“Missio streamlines proposals and surveys users, optimizing the democratic decision-making process and creating a more engaged and effective DAO community, while also creating the first ever true qualitative DAO contributor metrics system,” said Oisin, CEO of Missio. “With Missio, DAOs can unlock their full potential and pave the way for a more democratic and effective future.”
Oisin is no stranger to DAO operations and the struggles DAOs face day to day. He is also the co-founder of CityDAO and works in Operations for NFT platform VRYNT. “DAOs have the potential to revolutionize the way we govern communities, but the path to effective management and growth of these communities is riddled with obstacles,” he said. Missio’s innovative solutions can help solve this.
Missio helps DAOs make more effective decisions in four ways:
Information summarization
DAO surveying
DAO data visualization
DAO reputation and incentives
Randomocracy: system of governance with a random sample of representatives
We tasked builders with coming up with a plugin that would allow DAOs to use a unique type of governance.
The winning team built Randomocracy, which is a soon-to-be-built OSx plugin that uses a governance method where a representative is chosen at random to make the decision for the organization.
This method of decision-making, sometimes called Sortition or lottocracy, was popular in ancient Greece. It helps prevent factions from forming and removes bias and potential for bribery from elections, often resulting in more fair decisions.
“The idea of randomocracy is not new, but its implementation is a new possibility because of blockchain technology,” wrote Meli, cocreator of the Randomocracy project.
Here’s how it works:
Any DAO member can submit a proposal, which then opens an anonymous forum that DAO members can discuss in for a set period of time. When that period ends, a sample size of anonymous DAO members are chosen to make the decision on behalf of the organization. The sample size is scaled to the size of the DAO. If a DAO member is chosen to vote but does not respond, another member is randomly chosen to fill their place. All the representatives vote, and if pass rate is met, the proposal passes.
Participation rewards are then distributed to DAO members who voted, and consensus rewards are distributed to those who voted for the winning option. This helps incentivize further participation in future random selections.
The team is currently working on implementing Randomocracy as an Aragon OSx plugin, so DAOs built on Aragon will be able to use this unique decision-making method soon!
DAyOri: notification system for DAOs
It can be hard to keep up with everything happening in your DAO, especially voting. DAyOri solves this by monitoring the data emitting from your DAO’s contract and notifying you by email when an action occurs. For example, you could get notified whenever a new proposal goes up to vote onchain, or when funds are sent out of the treasury. This helps DAO members have better visibility on what’s happening in their organization through simple automated messaging.
Here’s how it works:
DAyOri monitors all events data emitted from the registered DAO contract. Then, that data is translated to human readable language and sent via email to the DAO members who signed up for notifications. DAO members can opt into this messaging service and customize it to fit their precise needs.
“DAyOri” means “letters” in Japanese.
They support Aragon OSx and OpenZeppelin DAOs. Currently, they only support the Goerli network, but they plan to introduce more chains soon. Check back for deployment on mainnet!
