This week, Syndicate sunsetted their investment clubs product to focus elsewhere after having helped launch thousands of communities. We’re ready to help these organizations find their next home! Learn how to migrate your investment club into an onchain DAO on the Aragon App in under 10 minutes in the highlight below.

How to start an investment DAO on the Aragon App

This week, Syndicate sunsetted their investment clubs product to focus elsewhere after having helped launch thousands of communities. We’re ready to help these organizations find their next home!

Here’s how to start your investment DAO on the Aragon App in under 10 minutes:

Go to app.aragon.org and click “Create a DAO.”
Choose the blockchain your previous investment DAO was deployed on. This will make it easier to send assets to your new DAO without bridging.
Add the logo, name, and description of your investment DAO.
If your DAO is on Ethereum, choose your dao.eth subdomain!
Select a multisig DAO and paste in the wallet addresses of your members. You can always add or remove these addresses later with a vote. You can also use Coinvise for larger lists. Set your approval threshold to continue!
Double check your settings to make sure everything looks good. You can change all of these settings, except the blockchain you deploy on, later with a vote.
Pay a gas fee and deploy your DAO. Just 18 cents on Polygon!
From your DAO Dashboard, click “New Transfer.” Choose “Deposit assets” and copy your new DAO’s contract address.
Open your existing multisig or wallet holding the investment DAO’s funds and paste in the address of your new DAO.
Send the funds and wait for them to appear in the new DAO. Repeat this step for each asset you hold!

Network Highlights

Check out the updates to the product from our last sprint:

UX improvement: The Smart Contract Composer now has helper text when inputting parameters.
Security boost: When depositing assets, the network name appears so you don’t accidentally send assets to the wrong network. This is crucial for eliminating user error and keeping funds on the correct chain.
Bug fix: We fixed the Withdrawal process, which crashed if there was a coin with no name in the treasury.
Look-and-feel improvement: DAO logos are now displaying regularly.
