DAO Global Hackathon announced for Spring 2023, Delegate section on forum live for delegate platforms, $ANT added to Coinbase.
Top 3
The second iteration of the DAO Global Hackathon is scheduled for Spring 2023! We’re excited to build upon the success of the 2021 hackathon by using existing primitives to build real solutions for DAOs. Learn more about the event and how to become a sponsor in the highlight below.
Interested delegates can use the Delegate section on the forum to share their profiles and platforms for delegation. We encourage delegates to be transparent and accessible by posting publicly and engaging with the community. However, delegates don’t need to do so—they can work directly with the ANT holders they represent.
$ANT was added to Coinbase! You can now buy and sell our governance token there. We encourage our community to hold their tokens in self custody, but are excited to make the purchase and sale of ANT more convenient and accessible to all.
Highlight of the week: DAO Global Hackathon open for sponsors
We’re excited to announce that the second DAO Global Hackathon will take place in Spring 2023! This four-week virtual event will encourage hackers to leverage cutting-edge governance primitives and existing tools to enable the next generation of DAOs. The hackathon will bring together hackers, builders and DAO operators to create solutions that DAOs will use in the real world.
In the 2021 DAO Global Hackathon, 23 partners and over 1,000 hackers worked together to build projects for over $200,000 in bounty prizes. Major DAO and web3 infrastructure providers, from Gitcoin to Polygon to Snapshot, sponsored the event. We are excited to build on that success with this edition of the Hackathon.
There are two ways to get involved in the hackathon:
Sponsors: You’ll have complete control over setting the bounties and evaluating submissions. As a sponsor, 100% of the funds you contribute will be directed to achieving your desired outcomes. You can choose a hands-on or hands-off approach to manage these bounties. Email ryan@aragon.org to share your interest in becoming a sponsor!
Builders: We’ll share updates on the status of this event as we get closer to the start date, so subscribe to this newsletter to hear more about how to join as a builder and create exciting solutions for DAOs!
To become a sponsor contact Ryan, our Events Manager.

Aragon DAO Updates
No new updates on Votes or in the Forum, but here’s a word on Delegates:
Delegates
Anyone can be a delegate in the new Aragon DAO. In this section of the forum, delegates can post their delegation platform if they so choose. This process is completely permissionless—the only requirement to become a delegate is to receive delegation to your wallet address. Delegates can work directly with ANT holders and stay anonymous, they can put out a campaign online and share their credentials and background, or they can do something in between! This said, we encourage Delegates to post public profiles and to be accessible to the community. Our goal is to foster a culture of collaboration and alignment between ANT holders, delegates and core teams, and avoid building a cumbersome bureaucracy that is unenforceable on-chain.
It’s important to remember that you do not need to delegate your ANT—anyone can vote without delegating. And even if you do delegate—you can always override the vote of your delegate by voting directly.
