21 October 2022 : Introducing the Aragon DAO Governance Framework
Announcing the framework for Aragon DAO governance, Vocdoni releases anonymous voting capabilities, LexDAO feature week on Twitter
Top 3
This week we’re excited to share how we’re approaching governance, as we prepare to launch the Aragon DAO. This governance framework outlines the three governance mechanisms we will explore: Rules, Guidelines, and Practices.
Vocdoni released anonymous voting in their App! This means that voters can stay anonymous when casting their votes, and no one can correlate the contents of their ballot with their identity. Read more in the announcement blog and the technical deep dive.
We featured LexDAO on Twitter this week! LexDAO provides tech-based solutions to legal problems. Catch up with our live conversation with lawyers from LexDAO.
Highlight of the Week: Introducing the Aragon DAO Governance Framework
Three governance mechanisms of Aragon DAO
We are approaching Aragon DAO governance with the following framework:
Rules enforced by the on-chain deployment and applicable laws, which will establish the default governance model of the organization.
Guidelines indirectly enforced by voting at the token holder and delegate level, which will establish the operational standards of the organization.
Practices reinforced by the culture within and between teams, which will shape our ways of working and coordinating.
Our intention is to align the community with shared language and structure, as we share our new governance model over the coming weeks. Each week, we will progressively share, discuss, and set the foundation of our new governance. We’ll start by sharing our starting point and hosting a deep dive, Q/A, and feedback session with the core teams during our Friday Socials. We’ll then post a summary to the Forum for async feedback and broader community discussion. DAO Craft will help us moderate the discussion and lead us towards constructive outcomes. Those who wish to participate in additional feedback sessions can sign up for the consultations with DAO Craft here.
Oct 28 : We’ll start with a deep dive on the governance framework and a high level overview of each governance mechanism : rules, guidelines and practices.
Nov 4 : We’ll present the default governance model and rules of the organization, enforced by the on-chain deployment. This may also include a general overview of legal wrappers and additional rules that could be enforced by law. The draft Charter will describe these rules in accessible and plain language.
Nov 11 : We’ll share an operating model to help us coordinate in the Aragon DAO and inform the guidelines that could be enforced by ANT Holders and Delegates.
Nov 18 : We’ll discuss practices and preparing our teams to work in a DAO! The transition should be a continuation of each teams’s agency to determine how they work together and coordinate with others.
Deploying the Aragon DAO on-chain will be the first step of the transition. The final technical and legal DAO design will be approved by the Aragon Association and enacted by ANT Holders with a vote. Delegation will immediately follow the Aragon DAO on-chain deployment and guidelines should be endorsed shortly thereafter. People interested in becoming delegates should begin to signal their intention, via forum posts or by working directly with ANT holders.

Network Highlights
Vocdoni released anonymous voting : end-to-end verifiable, fully anonymous voting within a flexible protocol. They resolved the apparent conflict between anonymity and end-to-end verifiability with cutting-edge zero-knowledge technology. This is a huge step forward for Remote Electronic Voting systems, and very exciting for the future of the Vocdoni voting protocol!
This week on Twitter was all about Lex DAO, a DAO of lawyers who create tech-based solutions to legal problems.
